Three more names have been added to the growing cast for Neil Marshall’s upcoming Hellboy reboot, Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. Sophie Okonedo (After Earth, Hotel Rwanda), Brian Gleeson (mother!, Wake Wood) and Alistair Petrie (Rogue One) have all been confirmed for the film, which was written by Hellboy comics creator Mike Mignola, Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Aron Coleite.
Okonedo will play Lady Hatton, a member of the Osiris Club, an ancient order uncovering supernatural mysteries. Petrie is playing Lord Adam Glaren, a high-ranking member at the club, and Gleeson (pictured) will play Merlin, a wizard. The three join David Harbour as Hellboy and Milla Jovovich as the Blood Queen, plus Ian McShane, Daniel Dae Kim and Penelope Mitchell.
Said to be a darker and more violent take on the comics than Guillermo del Toro’s adaptations, the new film sees Hellboy and a motley crew of paranormal researchers battling to save humankind from the titular medieval sorceress.
Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen is expected on January 11th, 2019.
