A recent calendar shuffle means Joel Ruben’s Heart Eyes sequel will be coming to us earlier than expected!
Initially expected to release on February 11th 2028, official sources have confirmed that Paramount Pictures have brought the project forward one week.
Heart Eyes 2 will now debut worldwide on February 4th 2028.
Writer-director Joel Ruben will return to his duties on the sequel, as will story writer and executive producer Christopher Landon.
Stars Mason Gooding and Olivia Holt have been confirmed to reprise their roles, with further casting announcements expected soon.
Plot details for the sequel remain unknown, but have been rumoured to involve someone new taking on the “Heart Eyes killer” mantel, targeting the survivors in revenge.
Paramount Pictures have been confirmed to take over worldwide distribution, having previously released the original in Europe. No reason has been given as to why Screen Gems have been ousted as domestic distributors, but whispers suggest they were unable to provide a satisfactory publicity campaign for the original film.
Filming is expected to begin early in 2027.
So, an unexpected shift for Heart Eyes 2, but at least that means we’ll get it slightly sooner!
February 4th 2028, mark the date, folks!
