We’ve been covering The Bye Bye Man a lot here at Scream, and with the January release creeping steadily up on us, the final trailer for Stacy Title’s spooker is here, and for the first time, we get to hear what is presumably the titular entity’s voice.
Doug Jones (Pan’s Labyrinth, Absentia) plays the hooded creep, who is awakened by three foolhardy college kids, played by Douglas Smith (Antiviral, Ouija), Lucien Laviscount (Scream Queens) and Cressida Bonas. Hush’s Michael Trucco plays a brother of one of the students, whose mind is taken over by the Bye Bye Man. Screen icon Faye Dunaway and The Matrix’s Carrie-Anne Moss also star.
Synopsis:
Set in 1990s Wisconsin, when three college students move into an old house off campus, they unwittingly unleash a supernatural entity known as The Bye Bye Man, who comes to prey upon them once they discover his name. The friends must try to save each other, all the while keeping The Bye Bye Man’s existence a secret to save others from the same deadly fate.
Title directed from Jonathan Penner’s script, which was based on Robert Damon Schneck’s short story The Bridge to Body Island. Trevor Macy produced for Intrepid, and Jeffrey Soros and Simon Horsman produced for Los Angeles Media Fund.
The Bye Bye Man will emerge on both sides of the Atlantic on January 13th, 2017.
