October 25th marked 45 years of John Carpenter’s Halloween. Isn’t that amazing? 45 years! To mark the occasion, the franchise has released their first ever mobile game.
Halloween: Match Made in Terror is a Candy Crush-style match-three game wherein the player must match 3 or more symbols to complete a goal. The matchable symbols include iconic objects from the classic film, including a Strode Realty sign, Laurie’s knitting, Loomis’ trench coat, and of course, a pumpkin.
As the player runs out of moves, Michael Myers, always positioned atop stairs, will draw closer. Completing a level will bring a player closer to their overall goal; fixing up a house they have just purchased in Haddonfield.
In your quest, allies are available to help, of course. Doctor Sam Loomis is here to offer his revolver, Sherrif Brackett hands over his police badge, both of which will remove symbols from the grid. Additionally, Nurse Marion Chambers hat will shuffle the board to enable more operative combinations.
In between levels, we get to see cut scenes of Michael’s escape and stalking of Haddonfield and Laurie Strode. Undoubtedly, he will soon make his way to your newly purchased home…
Halloween: Match Made in Terror is available for free now from all good app stores and is playable on any smartphone or tablet.
No doubt, this is just the first chapter in plenty of new Halloween content ahead. Watch this space!
