“HALLOWEEN ENDS” STAR ROHAN CAMPBELL TO LEAD “SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT” REBOOT

Posted on: April 21st, 2025

As we reported last November, on the eve of the movie’s fortieth anniversary, Charles E. Sellier’s Silent Night, Deadly Night would be receiving a “re-imagining,” due for late 2025.

Terrifier producers Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting will spearhead the film, with it being written and directed by Mike P. Nelson, the man behind the critically lauded 2022 reboot of Wrong Turn.

Although this announcement seemingly came out of nowhere, genre fans were cautiously optimistic, given the parties involved.

Now, we have even more reason to look forward to this festive re-imagining.

It has been confirmed that actor Rohan Campbell has boarded Silent Night, Deadly Night, and is set to play the lead role. Campbell is best known for portraying Corey Cunningham in 2022’s Halloween Ends. Although the film proved divisive with audiences, Campbell’s performance received universal praise. Since Ends, Campbell has continued his genre work, recently appearing in Osgood Perkins’ The Monkey.

Campbell’s casting has been warmly received by the horror community, many deeming the actor “perfect” for such a role.

However, that isn’t the only piece of casting news we bring regarding Silent Night, Deadly Night.

It has also been confirmed that Happy Death Day alum Ruby Modine will co-star alongside Campbell as a character named Pamela. Modine similarly seems to have an affinity for genre work, recently starring in 2023’s Fear, alongside her turns in Happy Death Day.

1984’s Silent Night, Deadly Night depicts the turbulent life of Billy Chapman, who sees his parents murdered by a criminal dressed as Santa. Developing a pathological fear of Santa Claus, Billy’s psyche is further fractured by years of emotional and physical abuse during his time in an orphanage. At the age of 18, Billy’s reality shatters, causing the teen and his twisted morals to rampage through the streets dressed as Santa.

It is currently unknown how closely Cineverse’s offering will follow this plot, but most agree, Billy Chapman sounds like a role perfectly suited to Campbell.

So, with some high-profile casting news, it looks like things are moving along nicely for this festive slasher. Hopefully it won’t be too long until we have some first-look footage! Silent Night, Deadly Night is currently slated to release in theatres on December 12th 2025, just in time for Christmas.

We’ll keep our eye on this one for any further festive updates.
