Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine, CBS All Access’s The Stand) has been cast in Starz’ upcoming horror-comedy pilot Shining Vale. It was previously announced that Courtney Cox (Scream franchise) will star in the show, making a return to the horror genre.

Shining Vale centres around a dysfunctional family that moves from the big city to a small town. Their new home was the site of terrible atrocities, but the only person who seems concerned is Pat (Cox), an author struggling to save her marriage and write her second novel. Pat believes she must be either possessed or depressed—but are her demons real, or are they all in her head?

In the show, Kinnear will play Terry Phelps, Pat’s sweet, sensitive husband. The half-hour pilot, which will be directed by Dearbhla Walsh (The Handmaid’s Tale, Penny Dreadful), was written by Sharon Horgan and Jeff Astrof.
