The revival for Twin Peaks has been hanging in the air after we were told it would be happening, to then have our coffee buzz taken away when the resurrection’s future looked dire. Fortunately, on Friday both Showtime and David Lynch took to Twitter to announce that Twin Peaks will be happening after all.
Showtime confirmed that original creator David Lynch (Blue Velvet, Mullholland Drive) will be returning and will direct every surreal and weird episode. Lynch’s unique mind will bring back that uncomfortable and awkward atmosphere that lingered in every scene and sentence.
The scripts for the new 9-episode show have been completed, and all the infamous faces from the first two series will reappear in one way or another. We hope the peculiar show will be given a new lease of life, and leave us with even more questions than answers.
