“GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE” TRAILER DELIGHTS FANS WITH NOSTALGIC THRILLS

Posted on: February 8th, 2024

“If there’s something strange, if there’s something weird, who are you gonna call?”

Perhaps there’s no more apt quote to encapsulate the sheer level of nostalgia that the new trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire contains. Shooting for the jugular, it showcases what just might be the ultimate 40th anniversary film.

Containing sizeable involvement from all returning cast members, the new trailer also features cameos from several more familiar faces.

Establishing that the original Ghostbusters team have disbanded and become somewhat of an urban legend, the clip sets up the ultimate reunion, as Paul Rudd’s new team seeks their assistance.

With New York facing the ultimate threat from an entity bringing on the second ice-age, we witness the old team suit up and commence battle, facing their worst fears in the process.

In a double dose of nostalgia, we also get glimpses of several pesky spirits from the past, including the “library ghost,” the slime monster, and of course, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man!

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will see Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, and Carrie Coon all reprise their roles from 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife. They will be joined by legacy cast members Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and William Atherton.

Unfortunately, Sigourney Weaver will not return as Dana Barrett, with the actress commenting this past summer that she simply wasn’t asked. Given the already-heaving cast roster, it’s understandable that not everyone could fit in, but fans will miss Weaver.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will premiere on March 22 2024, and you can peep the newest trailer below:
