Ending with the human-hybrids in charge, the humans captive, and a xenomorph on the loose, Season One of Alien: Earth ended on quite the cliffhanger.
The series continued the phenomenal return to prominence for the Alien franchise, started by 2024’s Alien: Romulus. Debuting to universal acclaim and record-breaking streaming numbers, discussions of a second season began almost immediately.
Now, we have confirmation that Disney have ordered a second season of Alien: Earth.
According to reports, series creator Noah Hawley has inked an overall deal with Disney, to include a second and possibly third season of Alien: Earth.
The deal is said to be worth “nine figures,” and is considered a first-look deal between Hawley and Disney. Whatever other delights the showrunner may be cooking up for viewers is currently being kept under wraps.
According to officially filed production information, season two of Alien: Earth will begin filming in London in early 2026.
This marks a notable change from the first season, which was shot in Thailand with a non-union crew, in a bid to avoid delays due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes.
The shift to England suggests that a great deal more money will be funnelled into Season Two, exciting fans further.
It is currently unknown how many cast members will return; however, Sydney Chandler and Alex Lawther have expressed a keen interest to continue with the series.
So, fantastic news for Alien fans, with the franchise continuing to go from strength to strength. Now we just need an update on that Romulus sequel…
Stay tuned to more updates as soon as we have them!
