It’s been a long time coming… years, in fact, but Blumhouse’s film adaption of Five Nights at Freddy’s is well and truly a-go, with some brand-new cast members added this past week.
Actress Kat Conner Sterling will mark her first sizable role as she takes on the part of Max in the highly anticipated flick.
Elizabeth Lail has also been confirmed as a cast member, earning the part of Vanessa. Lail is one of the hottest young talents in Hollywood right now, with starring roles in the Netflix series You and taking on the lead in the 2019 horror Countdown.
Lail and Sterling join a cast that is headed by Matthew Lillard and Josh Hutcherson, undoubtedly with more names to be announced.
Five Nights at Freddy’s is a Blumhouse project that has long been anticipated but seemed to stall in moving forward. A film adaption of the popular video game series, the player must survive a five night shift at the titular Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. Sounds simple enough, but animatronic mascot Freddy and his bandmates are very mischievous and will no doubt make these shifts hell…
Plot details on Blumhouse’s film adaption are sparse, but following the game series’ popularity, the studio was quick to snap up the rights. Given the long gestation period, Five Nights at Freddy’s is without question one of the company’s most anticipated projects.
There is currently no set release date for Five Nights at Freddy’s but production is expected to wrap soon. We will keep you posted on further developments.
