Darren Lynn Bousman is building quite a reputation for himself within the horror community. He directed some of the Saw series’ high points, having been at the helm of parts II-IV, and divided audiences, but undoubtedly gave the genre something interesting and vastly different with last year’s Abattoir. Next up for the director is a female-led psychological thriller entitled St. Agatha.
While plot details remain elusive, Deadline reports that the script was penned by Andy Demetrio, Shaun Fletcher, Sara Sometti Michaels and Clint Sears. The lead cast has also been announced, and features The Invoking’s Trin Miller, Carolyn Hennesy (True Blood), Courtney Halverson (Unfriended) and Seth Michaels (Eden).
Bousman also teased the location in which the story takes place, saying: “I have always been drawn to narratives with strong female characters. In St. Agatha the writers have constructed a literal convent of interesting and unique women put in dramatic, suspenseful, and even tragic positions.”
Expect more on this as we get it.
