Details concerning Darren Aronofsky’s latest project have been kept tightly under wraps, but we now know that the celebrated director will be returning to the realm of psychological horror that won him an Oscar nomination for 2010’s Argento-esque Black Swan.
As revealed at CinemaCon, the film in question is called Mother!, and while the below synopsis still gives away very little, we can tell you that the assembled, all-star cast includes Jennifer Lawrence (pictured in House at the End of the Street), Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris, Kristen Wiig and The Force Awakens’ Domnhall Gleeson.
A couple’s relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.
Paramount Domestic Distribution chief Kyle Davies told the CinemaCon audience to expect “thrills and chills” from the film, which Aronofsky also wrote and produced.
All will be revealed when Mother! is released on October 13th.
