UK sales and distribution outfit Blue Finch Films is set to launch sales for Mandrake, a Northern Irish folk horror movie, at the online European Film Market next month. Ahead of EFM, ScreenDaily has shared the first image of the flick (above).
The feature debut of Lynne Davison, Mandrake follows “a probation officer named Cathy Madden whose beliefs are tested when given the task of rehabilitating notorious killer ‘Bloody’ Mary Laidlaw back into society after 20 years in jail. Deirdre Mullins, Derbhle Crotty, and Jude Hill star in the film, which was written by Matt Harvey.
Mandrake was produced by Marie-Thérèse Mackle and Paul Kennedy. It is the latest project to come out of the New Talent Focus scheme from Northern Ireland Screen, which financed the project along with Northern Ireland-based post-production house Yellowmoon.
