Despite director Lee Cronin (The Hole in the Ground) sharing bloody behind-the-scenes snaps from Evil Dead Rise throughout production, we had yet to get a good look at the film—until now. Warner Bros./New Line recently shared a first-look image from the fifth Evil Dead movie, giving us a through-the-peephole glimpse of a grinning Deadite.
Pretty groovy, huh?
In Evil Dead Rise “a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.”
Alyssa Sutherland (The Mist), Lily Sullivan (Picnic at Hanging Rock), Gabrielle Echols (Reminiscence), Morgan Davies (The End), and Nell Fisher star in Evil Dead Rise. Bruce Campbell will not be reprising the iconic role of Ash Williams for the film. However, he is producing the project alongside Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert.
Evil Dead Rise will introduce new characters and a brand new storyline to the Evil Dead universe. The film arrives in theatres on April 21st, 2023.
