A handful of images have been released for the sci-fi thriller Morgan that stars Kate Mara and Paul Giamatti, as well as Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch), Rose Leslie (Honeymoon, The Last Witch Hunter) and Boyd Holbrook (Gone Girl, Narcos).
Morgan comes from first-time director Luke Scott – the son of Ridley Scott – and follows a corporate trouble-shooter who is sent to evaluate an artificially created lifeform; she must determine whether the being should be terminated.
The story sounds similar to last year’s British hit Ex Machina and indicates that it will trace a similar journey surrounding the ideas of creation, perfection and what defines a human being. The artificial being is set to be played by Anya Taylor-Joy and she has a lot to live up to if she is looking at Alicia Vikander as inspiration for her performance.
Showing that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, Luke Scott is diving headfirst into the genre that his father has helped shape. From Alien to Blade Runner, Prometheus and The Martian, it’s hard to think of a director who has such a strong back-catalogue of sci-fi greats.
The teaser trailer for Morgan is set to arrive tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled. For now, have a gander at the below images.
