“You don’t have to be scared, Mommy… she’s nice.”
We’re less than a month away from the release of Blumhouse and Universal’s Other Mommy.
With time running short, we’ve been gifted our final look at the movie in a disturbing new trailer. From the clip, it’s obvious that all involved are hoping this will be their ultimate horror hit this Halloween season.
In the clip, we are treated to non-stop terrifying imagery, as Jessica Chastain’s evil doppelgänger terrifies her family. Nicknamed “Other Mommy,” the entity delights in manipulating and horrifying Chastain’s young daughter Bella.
In what will undoubtedly be a stand-out sequence, we see the creature terrorise Bella at an indoor play park. Galloping through twisting slides, the entity eventually succeeds in trapping the child in a seemingly endless ball pit.
What is Other Mommy and why is she terrorising this family? We’ll have to see the movie to find that out.
Based on Josh Malerman’s novel Incidents Around the House, Other Mommy stars Jay Duplass and Arabella Olivia Clark alongside Chastain.
Nathan Elston adapts Malerman’s novel for the screen, whilst filmmaker Rob Savage adds another title to his ever-growing horror filmography.
Other Mommy is produced by James Wan, marking one of his first solo producing ventures under the Blumhouse-Atomic Monster label.
The movie is set to hit screens on October 9th 2026 via Universal Pictures.
