“Half this town will be dead by morning…”
With less than a month to go to the most anticipated horror sequel of the year, Blumhouse and Universal have given us a final trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
With each new trailer, it appears we’re getting a different character’s perspective, and this time around, it’s Vanessa Shelly, played by Elizabeth Lail.
The daughter of former serial killer, and Freddy Fazbear creator William Afton, Vanessa can be seen struggling with the demons of her past. Wanting to put her demons to rest once and for all, Vanessa is seen confronting relics from her father’s bloody reign.
Of course, once each character seems to be making strides in their life, those pesky possessed animatronics re-emerge for another round of bloodshed. And this time, it’s personal…
Not only do they want Vanessa, but fellow FNaF survivors Mike and Abby, portrayed by Josh Hutcherson and Piper Rubio. Furthermore, young Abby seems to be the one they want most… What could the young girl have that they covet so much?
With a promotional push unlike anything we’ve seen from Blumhouse of late, it’s clear the studio, alongside Universal, are putting their all into Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
Emma Tammi’s sequel will undoubtedly be the biggest release Blumhouse have had this year, and hopefully will prove a success… Something the studio is in dire need of.
Since 2023’s original Five Nights at Freddy’s every release from the studio has performed below expectations. Things seem to be on the upswing with Scott Derrickson’s Black Phone 2, but it’ll take more than one success to undo a slew of financial flops.
Will Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 put Blumhouse back on the map as a genre juggernaut? We’ll find out soon!
