We’ve got less than a month to go until Alien: Earth premieres on Hulu and FX.
So, both parties have decided to gift us with one final trailer for the legendary franchise’s first television venture.
Acting as a sizzle reel for the show, the trailer appears to compile everything we’ve seen thus far, adding a few vital lines of dialogue over the proceedings.
From the clip, it’s obvious that the Xenomorph is only one of several dangerous beings that have crash landed on earth. Although we don’t get to see any of these new creatures, the promise of multiple alien life forms should be enough to excite any franchise fan.
The series comes to us from Fargo’s Noah Hawley, and takes place on Earth, roughly 70 years in the future. When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat. An official logline confirms that Alien: Earth takes place after Alien: Covenant but before the events of 1979’s Alien.
Sydney Chandler leads an ensemble cast as Wendy, a ground-breaking human-android hybrid with the body of a woman but the mind of a child. Alongside Chandler, the ensemble cast includes Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Adrian Edmondson, Essie Davis, Kit Young, and Lilly Newmark, among others.
Alien: Earth will premiere on television via FX on August 12th, and will stream after broadcast on Hulu, for U.S. audiences. Internationally, the show will premiere on Disney+.
Episodes will then continue to air weekly, before concluding on September 23rd.
Undoubtedly, all involved are hoping Alien: Earth is a hit with viewers in hopes of a second season. So, we’ll have to wait and see if the legendary franchise translates well to the small screen.
