One of the best zombie movies of the last decade was Shin’ichirô Ueda’s expectation-defying horror-comedy One Cut of the Dead. A French remake titled Final Cut will be premiering at the Cannes Film Festival this year under the title Z (Comme Z), and you can get your first good look at the film below in a compilation of quick teaser trailers!
Directed by Michel Hazanavicius, Final Cut sees “things go badly for a small film crew shooting a low-budget zombie movie when they are attacked by real zombies.” Romain Duris, Bérénice Bejo, Grégory Gadebois, Finnegan Oldfield, Matilda Lutz, and Raphaël Quenard star.
We called One Cut of the Dead a “clever, low-budget love letter to clever, low-budget filmmaking” in our 4.5-star review. Will the remake live up to its predecessor? We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info to share with you.
