“Why would I want to hurt you…?”
We’re less than a month away from the premiere of Apple TV’s episodic reboot of Cape Fear.
In a newly released trailer, we get a better look at the campaign of terror Max Cady has in store for Sam and Anna Bowden and their family.
Interestingly, the crux of the trailer appears to reveal that Anna was Max’s attorney, not Sam, as every previous incarnation of Cape Fear has led with. This interesting reshuffle seemingly leads to a dark secret buried at the heart of Cady’s vendetta.
Whilst it’s common knowledge that Max Cady didn’t commit the murder he was incarcerated for, the trailer implies Anna knows something more… She knows something so dreadful that not even her husband is aware of.
What could Anna’s secret be? And will she reveal it with her family’s lives on the line?
Cape Fear stars Patrick Wilson, Amy Adams, Javier Bardem, CCH Pounder, Ted Levine, and Ron Pearlman.
Channel Zero and Chucky showrunner Nick Antosca will oversee Cape Fear’s television adaption, whilst Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg executive produce for Universal and Amblin Television.
Cape Fear will premiere on Apple TV with a double episode on June 5th. Following that, episodes will air weekly until the show’s conclusion on July 31st.
