It’s been a while since we’ve had an update on Radio Silence’s Mummy sequel.
Last we heard, more legacy cast members had signed out to return, with production expected to begin in August.
Now we have confirmation that filming is underway.
According to returning star Brendan Fraser, filming commenced on September 7th 2026. Fraser made the revelation the previous day, whilst attending an awards show in France. According to the actor, he had to leave quickly as he “had work on Monday morning.”
So, with things underway, it’s only a matter of time before we start hearing some of those all-important plot details. So far, things have been kept a closely guarded secret.
Alongside Fraser, Mummy legacy stars Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Oded Fehr, and Kevin J. O’Connor are also set to return.
New cast members include Young Sherlock actor Numan Acar, and Obsession star Michael Johnson. However, as of this writing, their roles remain undisclosed.
Orphan: First Kill scribe David Coggeshall is penning the script, with filmmaking team Radio Silence undertaking directing duties.
The movie is set to hit screens on October 15th 2027 via Universal Pictures.
