It is a common belief that we all turn into our parents sooner or later, but in Tyler Savage’s Inheritance it could mean a particularly unwelcome fate. The film – which stars It Comes at Night’s Chase Joliet as a man with some troubling family secrets – picked up rave reviews on its festival run last year, and has just had a Digital HD release announced for June 15th, when it will be available on iTunes and Amazon Video.
Inheritance is the feature debut from director Savage, who also wrote the script.
Synopsis:
Ryan Bowman has just inherited a $2.5 million beach house on the central California coast from his biological father, a man he’s never known and thought long dead. Arriving in the charming town with his pregnant fiancée, Ryan’s curiosity about his father soon leads him into an introspective investigation. As a looming family presence tightens its grip on him, Ryan pushes away his adoptive family and expectant fiancé. When he finally discovers the horrifying truth about his birth parents, he might be too late to stop himself from repeating a similar pattern…
Joliet (who also co-produced) is joined onscreen by Sara Montez, who appears in the upcoming Nosferatu remake, as well as Dale Dickey (True Blood, Winter’s Bone), Drew Powell (Gotham), Jim Ortlieb (Bug, Flatliners) and Krisha Fairchild (Krisha).
