Paramount+ has added horror icon Dee Wallace (The Howling, Cujo, The Lords of Salem) to the cast of its upcoming Fatal Attraction series!
The series will star Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield, Castle Rock) as Alex, the role made famous by Glenn Close in the 1987 film. Joshua Jackson (Dr. Death) will portray Dan Gallagher, originally played by Michael Douglas. Amanda Peet, David Meunier, Alyssa Jirrels, Toby Huss, Reno Wilson, and Brian Goodman will also star.
According to Deadline, “Wallace will portray Emma Rauch, who is described as open, friendly, chic, and interested but also sensitive to boundaries. She is a retired career woman, enthusiastic and helpful volunteer, mother of adult children, and a student of life—someone anyone but Alex would be thrilled to have as their neighbour.”
Alexandra Cunningham and Kevin Hynes are writing the Paramount+ series, which will explore the “timeless themes of marriage and infidelity through the lens of modern attitudes towards strong women, personality disorders and coercive control.” Cunningham also serves as showrunner.
Directed by Adrian Lyne, Fatal Attraction saw a married man’s one-night stand coming back to haunt him when that lover began stalking him and his family. The film’s producers, Stanley Jaffe and Sherry Lansing, are executive producing the series.
