If you’re one of the unfortunate few that hasn’t seen this year’s surprise box-office hit Evil Dead Rise, now you can see it from the comfort of your own home.
A shot in the arm to a series that had been ten years dormant, Evil Dead Rise gave new life to the undead, with a box-office haul of almost $150 million. Now the movie hits all good streaming services, including Max, where the project began as a direct-to-streaming original. Warner Bros. made the right decision going for a full theatrical release, as those numbers cannot be denied.
Evil Dead Rise takes us to L.A., as Beth drops in on her sister Ellie and her three children for a visit. When an earthquake shakes the crumbling apartment block, it unearths a mysterious book buried deep within a sealed tomb… As the night progresses, Ellie undergoes some alarming changes, promising that her entire family will be dead by dawn.
With the promise of more Evil Dead content coming, epic streaming numbers will no doubt reinforce the new found confidence in the property. So, if you haven’t had the pleasure with Evil Dead Rise, there are many worse ways to kill boredom.
