In our first Evil Dead update in quite some time, we have learned when the next instalment of the iconic franchise will be hitting theatres!
Evil Dead Burn, described as a “spin-off” movie, and directed by Sébastien Vaniček, will land on the big screen on July 24th 2026.
Currently, all we know about the project is that it will star Dune: Part Two actress Souheila Yacoub.
Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, but we’re hearing production is expected to begin this coming winter.
Evil Dead Burn is one of two new instalments coming to us from Ghost House Pictures, New Line Cinema, and Warner Bros. The second is currently untitled, but we do know that Last Stop in Yuma County filmmaker Francis Galluppi has been hired to write and direct.
These two new films are part of series creator Sam Raimi’s plan to turn the Evil Dead property into an exciting playground for up-and-coming filmmakers. Following the runaway success of 2023’s Evil Dead Rise, Raimi was inspired to revive the brand by offering new filmmakers a chance.
Of his hopes for Evil Dead Burn, Vaniček stated:
“I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested. I’m going to put all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films behind it, I will move on to something other than horror!”
With a release date in place, things seem to be moving along nicely for Evil Dead Burn.
We’ll let you know of any further updates on the developing Evil Dead projects as soon as we can.
