Filming has started on Evil Dead Burn, multiple sources confirm.
The sixth overall entry in the film series, Evil Dead Burn is described as the first “spin-off” film, and will not be a direct sequel to 2023’s Evil Dead Rise.
Wednesday star Hunter Doohan is aboard the project in a “significant” role. Joining Doohan are Luciane Buchanan of The Night Agent, and Tandi Wright, last seen in Ti West’s Pearl.
Although filming is underway, plot details for Evil Dead Burn remain a closely guarded secret. However, upon securing the project, writer-director Sébastien Vaniček stated the following of his hopes for the film:
Evil Dead Burn will be produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, as they make good on their promise to turn their franchise into a springboard for up-and-coming filmmakers. Evil Dead series star Bruce Campbell is also aboard as an executive producer, as is Evil Dead Rise creator Lee Cronin.
So, things appear to be shaping up nicely for Evil Dead Burn.
We’ll let you know as soon as we have an update on the all-important plot details!
Evil Dead Burn is slated to hit screens on July 24th 2026, with a seventh film by Francis Galluppi also said to be in the works, so watch this space.
