It seems that as a film director or producer, before you can release your student film you need to have become an established filmmaker first. This has certainly been the case with Eli Roth and his student film Restaurant Dogs that clearly pays homage to Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs.
Restaurant Dogs nearly cost Roth his degree, as he nearly didn’t graduate because of it. Crypt TV has finally released the ten-minute film and it certainly exhibits his strange and quirky way of story telling and filmmaking. Even Roth himself knows it’s a bit of an odd one as he smirked that “The only theater it ever played in was MOMA (Museum of Modern Art).
