It was confirmed at the end of last year that Paranormal Activity would be returning for an eighth instalment.
The eighth entry will bring the famous found-footage series back to the big screen after over a decade away. Now, we know exactly when the ghostly shenanigans will begin again.
Reliable sources report that Paranormal Activity 8 will be haunting its way into theatres on May 21st 2027.
Plot details are currently unknown, but it has been confirmed that series creator Oren Peli will return to produce. Peli will be joined by Blumhouse CEO Jason Blum and James Wan. The eighth instalment will mark Wan’s first involvement with Paranormal Activity since the Blumhouse/Atomic Monster merger.
Up-and-coming filmmaker Ian Tuason has been chosen to direct, although there’s no word yet on who is penning the script.
As previously stated, the eighth entry will mark the first theatrical instalment of Paranormal Activity since 2015’s The Ghost Dimension.
In 2021 the franchise went direct-to-streaming with the Netflix original Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin. It was widely assumed that the property’s theatrical glory days were in the past with this move, but… here we are.
So, mark the date folks, Paranormal Activity 8 will release on May 21st 2027 via Paramount Pictures.
We’ll bring you any further updates on this project as soon as we can.
