DON MANCINI REPORTEDLY IN “EARLY STAGES” OF “CHILD’S PLAY 8”

Posted on: April 6th, 2024

We’re big Chucky fans here, if you haven’t already guessed.

As the pint-sized killer gears up to return to the small screen on April 10th, fans have been wondering what’s next for him.

When Chucky began production in 2021, franchise creator Don Mancini was clear that the move to television didn’t mean the killer doll’s feature outings were finished. It was always Mancini’s intention to carry on a feature film universe, and now, it seems we have our first update on that front.

Speaking on a recent podcast, Mancini had the following to say as he promoted the second half of Chucky’s third season.

“Like anyone in this business, I want to do more things. At this point though if it’s only Chucky I’m totally cool with that,” Mancini began. “I have other things I want to do. I’m working on a new pilot. I’m also, actually, in the early stages of working on a new Chucky movie.”

A new Chucky movie?! What could it be? Recently, Mancini has commended fans having interest in any idea he can conjure up, including sending Chucky to space. So, is this what we’ll see? Previously Mancini has also voiced his ambitions of putting Chucky on a train, akin to 1980’s cult classic slasher Terror Train. Undoubtedly, series fans would be on-board with either idea.

“At this point, I just want to keep working,” Mancini finished on a hopeful note.

Without question, we want you to keep working, Don!

So, what’s next for Chucky? Will he head to space? Will he board a train? Will his television adversaries find their way to the big screen? So many questions!

Chucky will return to television on April 10th 2024, and we’ll undoubtedly have a clearer picture of where the franchise is heading following the conclusion of Season 3. Stay tuned!
