Warner Bros. has released a new featurette for Mike Flanagan’s upcoming horror film Doctor Sleep. In it, we get our first real look at young Danny Torrance (Roger Dale Floyd), as well as a deeper insight into his grown-up self (Ewan McGregor).
An adaptation of the Stephen King novel of the same name, which happens to be a sequel to one of King’s most infamous novels, The Shining, Doctor Sleep sees Danny trying to move past the trauma he suffered at the hands of The Overlook Hotel’s permanent residents. But what little peace he’s found is shattered when he encounters Abra, a little who possesses the same extrasensory gift that he calls the “shine”—and who is in immeasurable danger.
“I always wondered what happened to Danny when he grew up,” King says in the video. “One of the things that I wanted to see was a man at the end of his rope. You can’t really recover until you finally reach your bottom and I wanted to see that in Dan on the screen.”
Doctor Sleep checks into theatres on November 8th, 2019. Watch the featurette below for a sneak peek.
