Fans of the 2011 survival horror game Dead Island have been waiting over a decade for a sequel, but they’ll have to wait just a little bit longer. Dead Island 2, which was previously slated to release on February 3rd, has been pushed back to April.
“The delay is just 12 short weeks and development is on the final straight now,” the game’s official Twitter account stated. “The new release date for Dead Island 2 will be April 28th 2023.”
The Twitter post also revealed that a new trailer for the game will be released on December 6th.
Described as a thrilling first-person action RPG, Dead Island 2 will take place several months after the events of the original game. Players will be able to explore a gore-drenched Los Angeles, slaying zombies using brutal melee combat in iconic locations like Beverly Hills and Venice Beach.
Dead Island 2 comes to us from developer Dambuster Studios and publisher Deep Silver. The game will be available for the Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the PC via the Epic Games Store.
