SYFY is reanimating George A. Romero’s classic 1985 zombie film Day of the Dead in the form of a new 10-episode series—and according to Variety, we can expect to see it sometime this autumn.
The series is co-written, showrun, and executive produced by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas and will follow six strangers trying to survive the first 24 hours of a zombie invasion. Steven Kostanski (The Void, Psycho Goreman) is directing four episodes and is also serving as an executive producer.
Day of the Dead is produced by Cartel and HiTide Studios. Stan Spry, Jeff Holland, and Drew Brown will executive producer for Cartel, with James Dudelson, Robert Dudelson, Jordan Kizwani, and Matt Drake executive producing for HiTide Studios.
