With new stills having been served up just this week, we now have the red band trailer for Day of the Dead: Bloodline, and it displays some pretty awesome zombie carnage. Don’t get me wrong, there’s really no need at all for such a film to be made, but if we really must see remakes of George A. Romero’s most beloved works, at least this one looks like some brutal, bloody fun.
Directed by The Corpse of Anna Fritz’s Hèctor Hernández Vicens, the film reimagines the events depicted in Romero’s bleak 1985 classic, the final part of the legendary director’s original Dead Trilogy. It stars Sophie Skelton, Jeff Gum, Marcus Vanco and onetime star of ITV’s Gladiators Mark ‘Rhino’ Smith. Seen in the trailer is remake regular Johnathon Schaech (Prom Night, Quarantine) as Max, the film’s take on iconic fan favourite zombie Bub.
Synopsis:
Day of the Dead: Bloodline is set in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled world where a former med school student is tormented by a dark figure from her past. The only thing is, he’s a half-human, half-zombie hell-bent on destroying her world.
Day of the Dead: Bloodline comes from Millennium Films and Saban Films, and was produced by the Texas Chainsaw 3D/Leatherface team of Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman, alongside Jeff Rice. It hits US cinemas, VOD, and Digital HD on January 5th, 2018.
