Director David Slade (Hannibal, 30 Days of Night) is bringing Norman Partridge’s horror novel Dark Harvest to the big screen—and Casey Likes (The Birch) and Emyri Crutchfield (Fargo) have signed on to star.
Set in a small Midwestern town, the film will see a supernatural spectre rising from the cornfields every autumn and making its way toward the town’s church, where teenage boys hungrily await their chance to confront the legendary nightmare in an annual harvest rite of life and death. Living in the shadow of his big brother who won last year’s Run and earned his ticket out of the dead-end town, Richie Shepard is eager to prove himself and willing to do whatever it takes to win. Against the rules—and the odds—he teams up with Kelly Haines, a restless dreamer, to hunt down the creature and win their freedom, together.
Michael Gilio is penning Dark Harvest. The film is currently set for an autumn 2022 release.
