A new poster for Unfriended: Dark Web has been released and you can check it out below. The poster shows internet violence traversing into the real world as a woman fights for her life against an unknown assailant. He (or she) is not doing a great job with his (or her) weapon of choice, a plastic bag, because their victim can easily breathe through her nose and mouth. Silly.
The new trailer looks intense and scary, showing a young man and his online friends stumbling on the Dark Net after stealing a computer. What ensues proves that some things are better left unseen. It certainly appears to be heightening the terror from the first one as the trailer shows a ton of disturbing stuff happening.
Synopsis:
When a 20-something finds a cache of hidden files on his new laptop, he is thrust into the deep waters of the dark web.
After screening at SXSW the film has received rave reviews, being praised for its cruelty and appropriate darkness, so that’s good news.
Directed by Stephen Susco, Unfriended: Dark Web stars Betty Gabriel, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Stephanie Nogueras and Colin Woodell. The film will be released in the USA on 20th July, before hitting the UK on 10th August.
