IFC Midnight has released the trailer for Come True, a sci-fi chiller from writer-director Anthony Scott Burns (Our House, Holidays)—and if you’ve ever suffered from sleep paralysis, this one might look eerily familiar…
In the film, 18-year-old Sarah is at her lowest point yet when, struggling with recurring nightmares, she runs away from home and finds herself with no one to rely on. She chances upon a university sleep study that offers the promise of safety and money and brings her an unexpected friend and confidant in the overseeing scientist Jeremy. But there’s something curious about proceedings, and being under observation seems to make Sarah’s disturbing dreams even worse. As the darkness begins to close in, it’s soon clear that Sarah has unknowingly become the conduit to a horrifying new discovery…
In our review out of the virtual Fantasia Film Festival last year, we described Come True as “an understated, slow-burn nightmare that gradually unsettles before going in for the kill.” Julia Sarah Stone (The Killing) and Landon Liboiron (Truth or Dare) star in the film, which was executive produced by Vincenzo Natali (Cube).
Come True arrives in select theatres and on VOD platforms on March 12th. Sink into the creepy trailer below…
