Whilst 2025’s Clown in a Cornfield wasn’t exactly a horror blockbuster, the movie still made an impact with audiences.
Made on a budget of just $5 million, the adaption of Adam Cesare’s hit novel became a sleeper-hit, grossing $14 million worldwide.
The opening weekend surpassed Last Night with the Devil as IFC’s most successful weekend to date.
Given that the novel series is now on its fourth instalment, horror fans have been pondering if we’ll get a feature film sequel.
Now, it has been confirmed that Clown in a Cornfield 2: Frendo Lives will hit the big screen.
Details are sparse at this time, but Hudson Morgan and Will Lowell have been tapped to pen the script to the sequel adaption. Temple Hill Entertainment are reportedly hoping to begin production later this year, with a 2027 release on the cards.
Cesare’s Frendo Lives follows the classic slasher sequel formula, following original final girl Quinn as she ventures off to college. Of course, a new series of Frendo murders begins, and she calls on some fellow survivors to stop the killings for good.
With info being so limited, it remains unconfirmed if original director Eli Craig will return for the sequel adaption. Similarly, we do not know if actors Katie Douglas, Carson MacCormac, and Vincent Muller will reprise their respective roles of Quinn, Cole, and Rust.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this developing sequel, and bring you any further Frendo Lives updates as soon as possible.
