CBS has tapped Elizabeth Klaviter (The Resident) to showrun its upcoming series Clarice, which will follow on from the events of The Silence of the Lambs to explore the untold story of Clarice Starling.
Klaviter will work alongside writers and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet on the show, which will star Rebecca Breeds (The Originals) as the titular character. Kal Penn (Designated Survivor), Nick Sandow (Orange Is the New Black), and Michael Cudlitz (The Walking Dead) will also star.
Set in 1993, Clarice will see the brilliant yet vulnerable FBI agent returning to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators, all while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C. Maja Vrvilo (Gotham) will direct the pilot.
