Hot off the hells of Sinister 2, Ciaran Foy has signed on to direct The Shee for Blumhouse Pictures. The film will take Foy to his native Ireland and will follow a woman who has to come to terms with her troubled past on a remote island.
A Shee is like a fairy or elven creature that lives underground and in Irish mythology they are powerful creatures who use their powers typically for evil, rather than good. Uh-oh. To avert their evil intentions and mischief they would be worshipped. This sounds like an interesting and unique basis for a horror film and with Foy’s familiarity with creating foreboding, ominous atmospheres, I am confident he can present us a spooky little fairy tale.
