J.J. Abrams’s mightily exciting Stephen King-inspired series Castle Rock has already built a glowing cast which includes a number of faces previously seen in adaptations of the author’s work, albeit playing different characters. We know that Bill Skarsgård will play an inmate at Shawshank Prison, and the latest announcement reteams him with one of the young stars of last year’s It.
Chosen Jacobs, who played Mike Hanlon in the hit film, has joined the cast of Castle Rock, in which he will play Wendell Deaver, the son of Henry Deaver, played by Moonlight’s André Holland.
Also starring in the series are Carrie’s Sissy Spacek, Scott Glenn, Jane Levy, Terry O’Quinn and Melanie Lynskey.
The show – set to debut on Hulu later this year – is set in the fictional Maine town that provides a setting for a number of King’s works including Cujo and Needful Things, and will tell an original story into which a number of King’s familiar characters will wander.
