It’s been a long wait for Osgood Perkins’ Satanic horror thriller The Blackcoat’s Daughter to find a release, but the film finally arrives next month. To get fans hungry, A24 has released this set of stills for the film, which premiered at the Toronto International film Festival back in September 2015, under its original title, February.
Perkins, who also directed last year’s I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, began his film career playing the young Norman Bates in 1983’s Psycho II, and has since appeared in Secretary, Dead & Breakfast and Star Trek. The Blackcoat’s Daughter marked his first foray into directing.
Emma Roberts (Scream 4, American Horror Story, Scream Queens) and Carriers’ Kiernan Shipka star as two girls who are thrust into a battle with a mysterious evil force when they are left behind at their boarding school over winter break. Also starring are Lauren Holly (NCIS, Dumb & Dumber), rising genre star Lucy Boynton (I Am the Pretty Thing…, Don’t Knock Twice) and James Remar (The Warriors, What Lies Beneath).
The Blackcoat’s Daughter will be available exclusively on DirecTV from February 16th, before hitting limited US theatres on March 31st.
