Not only is the Italian meta-horror A Cat in the Brain getting a deluxe 3-disc Blu-ray release courtesy of Grindhouse Releasing this 12th July, it is also touring the US and hitting a few select cinemas from 2nd June. Our lucky readers in the USA can check out the full list of dates right here.
A Cat in the Brain comes from director Lucio Fulci (Demonia, Voices from Beyond) and follows the director as he plays himself; a tortured film-maker who is plagued by terrifying visions on and off the set. It’s a brilliantly gory flick, with the film’s psychological execution dividing audiences. If you like strange, gruesome films with an unmistakeable air of self-reflexivity, then A Cat in the Brain is well worth watching.
There will be a heap of extras on the Blu-ray, including interviews with various members of the cast and crew, a stills gallery, liner notes and a bonus CD with the original soundtrack by Fabio Frizzi, a glow-in-the-dark slip cover and a mini portrait of Lucio Fulci. There are, also, “more surprises!”
