The cameras started rolling on Astron 6’s The Void at the end of November, and now we have an official cast announcement. Kenneth Wilson (Twin Peaks), Aaron Poole (The Conspiracy), Daniel Fathers (Pontypool), Kathleen Munroe (Survival of the Dead) and Ellen Wong (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) have joined the upcoming horror-thriller from the creators of Manborg and The Editor.
Synopsis:
A lone police officer and a group of staff band together to fortify themselves within the walls of an isolated hospital which is under threat from a violent cult. As the group prepares for the fight of their lives they discover the real terror is already inside.
Genre fans must always be excited to hear what the cult film-makers Steven Kostanski and Jeremy Gillespie are getting up to next. They’re known to be bold and bloody in their films that are typically reminiscent of the ‘80s and, to put it simply, they’re quite eccentric. The Void is going to be filled with practical monster effects which were funded by a hugely successful crowd-funding campaign earlier this year, so it’s going to be easy on the CGI.
Check out the first still from the film below which ironically shows us a poster urging us to “make smart choices” on a wall covered in blood. We’re certainly excited to see the hell that The Void is promising to bring, and we hope you are too.
