Acclaimed indie director Mickey Keating is to tackle his first studio film with sci-fi paranoia thriller The Faces, which he is writing and directing for Lionsgate.
Keating has built a strong reputation for writing and directing distinctive independent genre flicks, bringing a different approach and aesthetic to each new project. His ever-growing CV includes the Twilight Zone-esque sci-fi horror Pod, hypnotic horror headtrip Darling and visceral, ‘70s-styled horror thriller Carnage Park. Next on his slate is the surreal and psychedelic Psychopaths, which is currently in post-production and due in 2017.
David Engel will produce The Faces via Circle of Confusion. Lionsgate pre-emptively acquired the film, suggesting that they have a good deal of confidence in Keating’s ability to make the shift to bigger budget fare.
We’ll bring you more on this one as we get it.
