A startling and dizzying new trailer has been released for the eerie psychological thriller Sun Choke, which we are huge fans of at SCREAM. We gave the film a near-perfect review when we saw it last year and you can read it here.
Sun Choke follows a young woman called Janie (Sarah Hagan) who is confined to her home by Irma (Barbara Crampton). Under her care, Janie is subjected to a strange health regime, but when she escapes from Irma’s clutches she becomes unhealthily obsessed with a woman called Savannah (Malakul Lane).
The trailer is as twisted as you would expect and boasts a beautiful visual style and an equally impressive score and set of performances. It’s a very disorienting watch that opens a whole world of possibilities as to where the film is going to end up. If you like your films to consume and grip you from the start, then Sun Choke is definitely something you should look out for.
Sun Choke comes from director Ben Cresciman, stars Sarah Hagan and will be released on VOD and iTunes on 2nd August. You can check out our interview with actresses Sarah Hagan and Sara Malakul Lane here, where they discuss the violent nature of the film and what it was like working with Barbara Crampton.
