Andy Muschietti has teased that It: Chapter 2 will be darker and scarier than the first film. In a taped interview, the director told audiences at CinemaCon to, “Bring your adult diapers…to the theaters.”
The first film was an excellent adaptation of the scary Stephen King novel and certainly wasn’t light on the frights. That being said, there is always room for something scarier and darker, so we are now on the edge of our seats in anticipation for the films’ sequel next year.
Jessica Chastain has been confirmed to play the role of the adult Bev Marsh, with Bill Hader and James McAvoy currently in talks to play Richie Tozier and Bill Denbrough. That just leaves Stanley, Ben, Eddie and Mike left to be cast.
Of course, Bill Skarsgard will be returning to play the role of the terrifying Pennywise with Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs and Jack Dylan Grazer reprising their roles as Bill, Ben, Bev, Richie, Mike, Eddie and Stanley.
It: Chapter 2 will be released on 9th September 2019.
