Marvel is welcoming Blade into its cinematic universe with a film starring Mahershala Ali as the daywalking vampire, and we’ve got some more casting news to share with you this week!
Deadline reports that Aaron Pierre (pictured above in M. Night Shyamalan’s Old) and Delroy Lindo (Malcolm X) have joined the cast of the reboot, which will be directed by Bassam Tariq (Mogul Mowgli). It’s unclear at this time what characters they’ll be portraying.
First introduced in 1973, Blade is a half-human, half-vampire vampire slayer. Stacy Osei-Kuffour (Watchmen) is writing the script for the new film, which will see the character returning to the big screen for the first time since 2004’s Blade: Trinity, which starred Wesley Snipes in the title role.
