We were on board the moment Don Mancini, the original creator of the Child’s Play franchise, announced that he and Nick Antosca (Channel Zero) were making a brand new series called Chucky, but this news is the icing on the cake: Brad Dourif will officially return to voice the killer doll.
Dourif has voiced Chucky in every entry in the franchise so far, with the exception of Lars Klevberg’s 2019 remake. Jennifer Tilly has also confirmed that she’ll be involved in the upcoming series, which is being described as a fresh take on the franchise.
Chucky will see an idyllic American town being thrown into chaos after a vintage Good Guy doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, sparking a series of horrifying murders that begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. The arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.
Chucky will slash onto the USA Network and Syfy in 2021. We’ll bring you more updates about the series as we hear them!
