We’ve had horror films about dolls, board games, and video games—but no beloved childhood toy is safe from the feature film treatment. The next to be dug out of the attic, dusted off, and taken to the big screen? The iconic Magic 8 Ball.
Blumhouse has teamed up with Mattel to turn the toy, first manufactured in the 1950s, into a suspenseful live-action movie. Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare) will direct, and will also write the script in collaboration with Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach.
Will the movie be a hit? Ask again later…
