Last year M. Night Shyamalan returned to form with his comedy-horror The Visit and he must be hoping to impress again with his next original film Split. Starring James McAvoy – as you’ve probably never seen him before – and Anya Taylor Joy (The Witch), Split follows three girls who are abducted by a man with at least 23 personalities.
The trailer is as crazy as the film’s synopsis would suggest and shows McAvoy impressively adapting both physically and mentally to his multiple personalities. As with all great Shyamalan films, there is an even bigger darkness lurking within the story, because there is a terrifying “beast” that is also looking to rear its ugly head.
Split has been written and directed by Shyamalan and additionally stars Haley Lu Richardson, Kim Director, Brad William Henke and Lyne Renee. The film will be released on 20th January 2017 in both the UK and USA.
